Addison Circle Special Area Study
In 2017, the City Council hired a consultant team to facilitate a special study process that would propose a future for two groups of properties in and around Addison Circle, Addison Central and Addison Circle West. Addison Central Study Area consists of approximately 8 acres and 9 parcels at northwest edge of Addison Circle, bounded to the north by Airport Parkway and to the west by Addison Road, and Addison Circle West Study Area consists of approximately 29 acres and 29 parcels along the Cotton Belt Rail Line, bounded to the south by Arapaho Road, to the west by Addison Road, and to the east by Dallas Parkway. The study process included two community meetings and four meetings with an advisory committee of Town residents and business/property owners establishing goals, guiding principles, and district strategic direction for these two areas. The study findings call to extend the Addison Circle urban neighborhood character and maximize the benefits of the new DART Cotton Belt Station by recommending urban residential with retail ready ground floor and a boutique hotel at Addison Circle West, and a mix of high-density office, retail, and residential towers with a potential grocery component at Addison Central. In 2019, City Council adopted the Addison Circle Special Area Study findings as part of the Comprehensive Plan.
