Building Safety

What We Do

The Building Safety Division is responsible for ensuring the safety of existing buildings and new construction within the Town of Addison.  We provide:

• Same-day service on building inspections submitted through our CSS portal prior to 7:00 am. Inspections requested via our inspections line must be requested by 3:00 pm for a next business day inspection.
• Specific appointments for residents who need inspections in their homes.
• After-hour and weekend inspections if needed (extra fee).

Schedule an Inspection

To schedule an inspection, you can either visit the CSS portal, or make the request on our 24-hour inspection request line at (972) 450-2885. Please only submit your inspection request using one method. Multiple submissions for the same inspection may result in scheduling delays.

Be sure to have the following available:

• Last 5 digits of the permit number
• Street address (including the suite number if applicable)
• Type of inspection your contact information.

Any requests made prior to 7:00 am using the CSS portal will be made the same day.  Inspections requested via the 24-hour inspection request line prior to 3:00 pm will be performed the following business day.
